The Outdoor Campus is getting “social!”We’ve recently joined the thousands of visitor attractions who use “social networks” to promote their businesses online. What is a social network? It’s a place online where you can learn some fast facts about a place you might want to take your family. It’s also a place where computer users gather to find old friends, get suggestions for places to eat, share photos of their family or even chat about their day.
Here is some information about the social networks we’re using to promote The Outdoor Campus.
Facebook – There are millions of Facebook users around the globe. Businesses like The Outdoor Campus have “pages” where people can go to see the latest updates, see photos of your facility, talk about your trails, suggest classes for moms with kids and more. Our Facebook page is: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/group.php?gid=17722078249
Twitter – Twitter is a place where you get one sentence updates about businesses or people you “follow.” If a person follows The Outdoor Campus on Twitter, they’ll get several updates a day that might read like this: We love nature walks, snowshoeing, fishing, camping and other outdoor skills. Our new class list comes out Jan. 30. Our Twitter page is: http://twitter.com/outdoorcampus
Blog – (If you're reading this, you're already here!) Blogging is a bit like journaling, but in a very public manner. Everyone can see it if they find you online. We update our blog at least once a week with a story about something happening here. This week’s features the latest issue of Conservation Digest for Kids. Find our blog here: http://theoutdoorcampus.blogspot.com/
YouTube – Want to see some funny clips from television or home videos? You can share them on YouTube. We’ve got our commercials loaded there so anyone can check them out. Our commercials are here: http://www.youtube.com/user/Flopperbluejay
You don’t have to be “internet savvy” to check these out. Just type in the address and you’re ready to go! Check them out and “get social” with us!
